HPLC 2025 Practice in Industry
Focus on “Sustainability ”
Sustainability is key for chemical industry to reduce its environmental impact and build resilience for the future. Next to a dedicated session showcasing sustainability innovations in industrial practices, the HPLC 2025 conference will highlight this societally very important topic by attributing a topical poster award for contributions featuring an assessment with green metrics. This will be complemented by a dedicated tutorial on how to best quantify the greenness/sustainability level of your methods/lab.
Sessions “Industry stories”
Problem solving in industry may be very challenging but seldom reaches the cover of the great scientific journals or makes it into a talk at a scientific conference. Nevertheless, this work is often of high quality and highly interesting for those active in the same field. To acknowledge this, the program will feature one or more ‘Industry stories’ sessions. In these sessions, we will not only welcome the typical success report but encourage presenters to also tell of the mistakes made (if any) and the challenges and setbacks faced. And even if you haven’t (yet) found the solution, but have gained valuable insights along the way, your story would be a perfect fit for these sessions.
Industry leadership track (“bring your boss to the HPLC conference”)
In two half-day sessions on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, a privatized environment will be created wherein industry leadership can share experiences & good/bad practices in lab management and organization and develop their views on the HPLC instrument, the lab, the workflows, the required skill sets of analytical talents,…. of the future. Sessions will kick off with a few short focusing talks and then proceed with round table discussions held in the presence of a number of selected experts in data management, lab automation and sustainability.
Sessions on lab automation and data processing
Next to an opening plenary by one of Europe’s leading experts on the automation of the analytical lab in life sciences, we’ll have dedicated sessions where top-level scientists will report on their latest work and thoughts on lab automation and data processing. In addition, the program will also include a topical session on “The Intelligent Instrument” showcasing the most innovative contributions regarding automated workflows at the instrument level.
Dedicated sessions on GC, preparative chromatography and FFF
We believe that cross-fertilization with related fields is the best way to advance, for any field. One such related field we will emphasize by organizing a dedicated session is preparative chromatography, not the least because of its large industrial importance. The cross-fertilization between HPLC and GC is also always very interesting, as many topics are in common, for example data analysis and representation. And with the ever growing size of biotherapeutic molecules, we foresee that e.g., Asymmetric Flow field-flow fractionation (AF4) will become an indispensable tool in biopharmaceutical industry (if not already). To increase the knowledge in this area, the program will feature a topical session on field-flow fractionation (FFF) and related techniques, as well as a tutorial on the use of AF4 for the characterization of biopharmaceuticals.
Debate session: “Current challenges and future opportunities for HPLC analysis in industry”
Compiling the ideas and concerns spawned by the participants of the industry leadership track and those collected beforehand among the regular conference delegates, we will be able to organize a vivid debate session on the current challenges and future needs in chromatographic analysis from a unique perspective.
